Pastor Rick Webster
I came to know Jesus as my personal Savior in 1962. If anyone had
said at the time that I would one day be a pastor, I would have laughed
at the idea. How, you may ask, did I become the pastor at Living Stones Church?
I wish that I could say that I stayed on His
path from 1962 until now, but I can't. I slipped away until 1969, when
I heard for the first time that one could have a daily walk with the
Lord. While in college, I met a young man who had that kind of
relationship with Jesus. I re-dedicated my life and was filled with the
Holy Spirit two years later. Where has this taken me? God has
allowed me to go to the mission field five times. I've ministered in
Haiti, Saint Lucia and Jamaica. God really shook my world on each of
those trips. I've also been privileged to work with teens and
college-age young people for over twenty years. I've had many
opportunities to share my testimony, locally and up and down the East
Coast.
In 2001 I came on staff at Living Stones in a
part-time capacity. That soon led to becoming a full-time
associate pastor. In October of 2005, I accepted the position as
pastor of Living Stones Church.
If I could sum up my life in as few words as
possible, it would be, “But by God’s grace I would not be
here.”
There is a scripture in Jeremiah 29:13 which says,
"And you shall seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all
your heart." I have learned a lot in the past ten years, but the thing
I've learned most is to have compassion for those that hurt, because I
understand. I've been there.
